Hello I have just added dash cam to my Mondeo 2015 Hybrid via front Cig lighter socket but notice that when I turn ignition off and close up the car power is still running to dash cam and it stays on. Same with rear passenger socket as well. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Once identified, again using the booklet for your Ford Galaxy or on the fuse box cover, locate the cigarette lighter fuse. Remove it with the pliers available in the box. When you notice in the non-opaque part that the conductive wire is cut in this case it means that the fuse has overheated and that is why you have a cigarette lighter problem.

The ciggy lighter fuse if a 15A behind the glovebox that is the 1st one in from the left on the second row down :L. there should be a sticker showing the fuse locations on the side of the glovebox too ( notice the should though as ford got tight & stopped putting em in )

Weird but the special cig lighter doesnt work. There is no power and I checked all fuses. Everything else work as far as light except for trunk light. Are they on the same wire or do I have a short on that wire. I checked right under and tested the w.. NicksKR623. Or carry a lighter on you and do the push button start mod for it like I did. the fuse box from 04 to 08 f150 is on the passenger side under the kick panel under the dash below the glovebox and the same thing happened to mine and it think it was number 20a on the board if im not mistaken but double check the manual to be sure.

I have a Ford Focus C max 2004 . The cigar lighter on the front centre consul has stopped working. I have tested the outlet in the boot which apparently is on the same fuse and this works fine. A friend checked the socket at the front with a circuit tester and it appears to be dead.

My Ford Fiesta has an always on I got a cigarette lighter splitter with power on/off buttons (similar to but not exactly like this one) which works well. BTW, are you sure it is the socket and not the Lighter itself and then check the power at the plug going it. Mine (2010 F150 STX) popped a week ago due to a faulty accessory insert. The fuse is located in the engine fuse panel above the radiator. The fuse number location is 22 and its a 20amp cartridge fuse (special order). OstNIk.
