You need to fill the new filter with fresh diesel to help the engine restart. Some people suck it through some tubing and others pour the diesel from one filter to the other. Counted to-be careful to pour it into the right side of the filter so that it goes through the filter mesh. Then just replace the filter and pipes.
Fuel filter replacement problem. I´ve just tried to replace fuel filter paper element on my mondeo 2.0 TDCi but with no success. The problem was when I was emptying the fuel filter by draining bolt at the bottom of filter, diesel hadn´t stop flowing from it.
